Garageband is not working, said invalid library

I have an older macbook which did not have garage band on it; however, it does have mac os x 10.6.8. Every time i attempt to use garage band it gives me an error about choosing a valid library. Where do I get a valid library.

How did you install GarageBand on your Mac? You cannot simply copy the GarageBAnd application. You need to run an installer for a full version. This will install a valid instrument library.

If your Mac came with Mac os x 10.6.8, the system install DVDs should contain an installer for GarageBand '11 with he bundled software, or you can buy an installer as part of the iLife '11 DVD at Amazon or eBay.
