How do I teach Siri to spell my wife's name correctly in texts?

When I use Siri to dictate text messages she always spells my wife's name "Aaron" when her name is actually Erin. It's frustrating that no matter how many times it select Aaron and change it to Erin, she never incorporates that info in the future. I've tried teaching her to pronounce my wife's name via asking her "Who is my wife?" But this only seems to teach her what contact corresponds to "my wife". That also does nothing to change that she always spells Aaron when dictating anything to her. It would be great to discover a solution.

While I am sorry there is no solution, I am glad I am not the only one suffering with this.

I have a male friend named "Kerry". I mention his name in text messages almost daily. No matter what I try, Siri insists on "Carrie". I change it EVERY time and it has no effect on future texts. It continues with "Carrie". So frustrating. One would think there would be some feature where she would LEARN after being corrected 50 times.

Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately adding phonetic first name has no effect at all on diction (e.g. in text messages). Siri still spits out "Aarom".

I look forward to when Siri learns from context. For instance that my wife's name is Erin and I text her several time a day. The best guess for spelling my wife's name matches not only the contact, but also who I communicate with constantly on the phone.

Thanks for continuing to try to help. I had already done it this way. Asking Siri to call Erin not Aaron wouldn't help with diagnosis as she already called Erin when I say call Erin. The problem is restricted to dictation within apps like text messaging. Siri does fine at calling, emailing or initiating a text. It's when I dictate "Erin is at home" within a text that Siri will spit out "Aaron" went home.

Apple has the getting Siri to pronounce words down fine. Thiis seems to be an isolated area where I haven't seen a fix. So I'll be very grateful if anyone can nail this one down.

I realize this is an older thread but I believe I might have an answer to your question. I was just searching Google for the same issue myself. I found that if you use dictation through a message or a note, highlight the name you wish to correct the spelling to and select the replace option in the context menu. It should pop up with a list of alternate spellings. Select the one that best matches your wife's name. This should tell Siri how you would like the name spelled.

I was having the same problem. My girlfriend spells her name Kristian and I have another Christian in my contacts. What I did was delete the other similar names after sending the contacts to myself so I could replace them later. Then I asked Siri to call Christian and the only option now was Kristian. Then I asked her who my girlfriend was and changed that to my Kristian. Then I added my other contacts backs. Works now only problem I've run into is that it only dictates one form of spelling so you might not be able to call other Aaron's using Siri but my girlfriend comes first so that didn't matter to me
