KeyChain Access will not reveal my password for Skype.

I am trying to reveal my Skype password. I can no longer reset through Skpe since I no longer have access to that original email address.

It is stored in Keychain access but when I click show password in the attributes pop up box I am unable to click the box, "show password"

on other logins this works?

Hi BDAqua,

Thanks for the info. I am using Keychain Access 4.1.1, OS 10.6.8. No problems found after running verification on Keychain Firstaid. I have already reset my Keychain Access password...... so that part is known

I have 2 Skype account applications in my login list.

Account Attribute .token.0

Account Attribute .token.1

If that is the case then I don't understand the use of keychain access -> show password field. It was supposed to show the saved password. Not asking me to reset my password. This looks like a bug to me. Hope they fix it. I don't want to reset my password as I have logged into multiple devices with this account. I don't want to go and change in each of these devices.

Try right clicking (or ctrl+click) on the Skype item in the main list of keychain items. The option to 'copy password to clipboard' should appear. Use that & paste into TextEdit to see the password.

Sometimes mice can send double clicks to that checkbox, it causes it to appear & disappear quickly. Is the mouse working OK in other apps?

For some reason the Skype token seems to always fail to show for me too.

Thanks for response Drew. I tried that and every other password gets copied this way except Skype. It doesn't copy anything to clipboard if I do that. Clipboard always has the last word/sentence I copied onto it. It never gets updated with this one.

My touchpad seems to be working fine as the issue is only with Skype and not with any other items in my keychain. If that was the case, I shouldn't be able to see any of the other items too, right?

KeyChain Access will not reveal my password for Skype.
