Switching itunes accounts and Sharing

So for years now I have used just one apple ID with all my apple products for my family and we have shared music and apps. However, I just bought a new Mac for college and wanted to get all my music and stuff on that computer and separate from my families. Is there anyway I can switch music and apps to a new apple ID also? Or Should I make a new ID and start all over? What is the best way to handle this?

NM,

Content purchased from the iTunes Store is permanently associated with the account from which it is purchased, and there is no way to change that association.

Music can simply be copied to your new computer and it will play (except for any DRM-encumbered files that were purchased from prior to mid-2009).

For apps, you will likely want to get your own ID and replace the apps.
