Apple TV plays only iTunes extras if the iTunes extra doesn't have a play movie option!?

I have the same problem. We watched the movie a hundred times without issue, but with the latest update, the Play menu from the movie is gone and so only the Extras are visible. I cannot find the actual movie anywhere.

Don't have the movie but I was surprised when you go to play from the cloud you go directly to Extras menu - nice to have but many people just want to play the main movie and have no interest in extras, and an extra step to play the movie.

In this case it sounds like a bug with the extras menu for Planes.

Ditto. Disappointment for the kids. $20 movie that won't play on Apple TV...

From where are you trying to play Planes? Does it work if you play it from Movies > Purchased? When you bought Planes, did you buy it as HD or SD?

Ethan, I bought the HD version on AppleTV and am trying to play it from AppleTV. It does not work from Movies > Purchased (there is no "play movie" option, only Extras).

It works fine.

The screen is simply showing you there are iTunes Extras included with this movie.

Select it and when the Extras opens, there is a Play Movie button.

Actually, it does look like a bug in the menu. We have "The Little Mermaid", which we've watched before. When you choose Play from the movie menu, it gives you options for Extras, Featured Extra, and Related but no option to play the movie. I"ll be submitting my own feedback and hopefully this can get corrected.

Looks like Play is there in the Extras for some movies and not others...

Do you see an option to play the trailer inside the Extra?

It looks like Planes has been fixed for me, but The Little Mermaid is still broken. I assume that "someone is working on it" but I'm not sure how to expedite.

Please let me know if you find/hear a solution to this; same problem here. Apple has just gone to the dogs since Jobs died.

Seriously, grow up.

No issues I ever had...you may want to put the Kool Aid down and look under the hood at their stock performance the past few years and what Cook is doing to have to keep shareholders from bailing.

If you push the "Play/Pause" button on the main movie screen rather than the select button the movie will start. Still a bug though.
