How do I reset my iPhone but keep select items?

I want to start over with my iPhone, mostly so I can deal with my music. I have physical CDs of music that I want to transfer to my iPhone through iTunes on my computer, but I have a load of songs on my phone that were purchased or a few that were acquired in other ways, and when I try to get the CDs onto my iPhone, everything just goes bad.

So I want to reset my iPhone but keep everything I purchased (apps and music), my notes, and my photos. Is there a way to do this?

I have an iPhone 5S running on iOS 7.1.1 and I have 27 GB of data available.

No. The first thing that happens when you do a restore is erase the device. You can, however, make a backup first that you can restore after the phone is restored to the current version of iOS. Or you can restore as new then reload all your stuff via iTunes. Your photos should be in iPhoto.
