Have first generation iPad with 3G purchased in Canada. Will the map application showing the blue
ball that denotes the iPad’s actual location work in Europe?
As long as it's connected to a network then it should work - cellular iPads have built-in GPS that part will work without needing to be online, but if you are using an app (such as the built-in Maps app) that doesn't store its maps within the app then it will need to be online in order to get the map.
