Yes it means you have taken an EtreCheck report & posted it here.

Do you want to take some time to explain what your problem(s) are with this computer?

You have old software installed & some adware installed (Genieo) too.

What is your actual aim of posting here? What are you hoping to address.

Take a full backup before you try anything. That means on another external HD - Time Machine isn't running!

This is a known adware carrier:

Safari Extensions:

Awesome Screenshot: Version: 1.3.3

Information on this extension is here:

Peer Guardian is for using P2P communications which is a great way to get a compromised Mac and likely how you got Genieo.

You have at least two unneeded anti-virus/ security pakages: FUSE and Intego. Both will hurt performance. You also have some Blackberry (com.rim) software that has failed to load.

Figure out if you can live without about half of your internet plug-ins. Outdated versions of DivX have caused some people trouble.

Anything that claims to "Tune Up Your Mac" is useless and intrusive. You have one. Get rid of it.

Initially I was trying to free up some memory , so I bought two !TB external hard drives , one to work with time machine and one to store photos , music , movies etc , but my memory is still pretty high , so I got this report to see if there are any problems on my Mac . Now how do I turn on time machine ? Thank you for your time . 🙂

Thank's

Actually the other one is about your misunderstanding of 'memory' 🙂

You are showing us pictures of disk space and complaining about memory - they are not the same thing. Memory is the 'short term data' that goes away on power off, data storage does not go away on power off.

Personally I'd suggest you cut your losses & start again…

You have a reasonable amount of stuff installed that I would consider junk (Genieo, Peergardian, TuneUpMyMac, Intego, Safari 'adware' extensions).

You also have what appears to be old software (RIM, CS2, iTunes plugins I haven't heard of, many web plugins, Growl?).

You can spend time deleting or updating these apps & looking for the correct methods to do so, or you could 'bite the bullet' & decide to reinstall everything that you actually use. The user data can be copied back, but the apps must be reinstalled.

My guess is that you have used Migration Assistant (or the OS X installer assistant) to upgrade this machine over a several OS releases? You probably have a lot of junk that you don't need or use & you also haven't kept up to date.

Ask if you want to know what is involved, put simply …

Erase, Reinstall, Use Migration Assistant to restore USER DATA ONLY, then reinstall any required apps, and plugins etc.

See if anyone has any better ideas, my concern is that lots of adware & junk software installed can lead to other malicious software on you Mac.

Does anyone know what all this means ?
