Windows is unable to complete format (PLEASE HELP!!!)

I have a 6th generation ipod classic i plugged into my windows 8.1 pc and it told me to format the disk so I right clicked in 'my computer' on the drive and clicked 'format' its telling me "Windows is unable to complete format" message. Itunes cant recognize it until its been formatted, but windows cant format?! What can I do do? I already unclicked quick format and tried that, not problems. I ran a diagnostic too, does everything look fine?

Windows is just treating your iPod as external media (e.g., a hard disk) which needs to be formatted. If you're looking for help with an iPod, I suggest you ask your question on the iPod forum. When you do, I'd also suggest that you be clear on what you're trying to accomplish with that connection.
