keychain login cannot be found to store "safari"

For the past month I have been experiencing numerous issues with password and the same error messages being presented relation to the keychain. The most common one is that the keychain login cannot be found to store "safari".

I have accessed ~/Library/Keychains/ and moved the appropriate folder to trash as advised by Apple via chat, reboot and it still is presented. Anyone have any idea what else I can do?

I cannot access FaceTime now as my password is not recognised or my apple mail account. Anything password related is not working.

Thanks

Try moving a folder with a name similar to this "A8F5E7B8-CEC1-4479-A7DF-F23CB076C8B8" as described here.

It sounds like you need to reset your Apple ID password. https://appleid.apple.com/

Are you fully updated to OS X 10.9.4? If no, download and run the combo updater to update and refresh your OS X files.

Testing in a new User will quickly tell you if the problem is system wide or if it's your User's folder that contains the problem.

CREATE A NEW USER OR USE GUEST

Go to System Preferences --> Create a New User in Accounts. Switch to the New User by logging out/in or use Fast User Switching.

Do you still see the issue?

If yes, then the problem is with your base files.

If no, then the problem is in your User's folder.
