Greetings,

I was able to resolve this issue yesterday. Let me explain how I did it. The issue was as a result from enabling Two-Factor Authentication on the Apple ID. Since the Two-Factor was enabled, the operating system of the Mac didn't support Two-Factor. You can review the requirements here: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT205075

Traditionally, as soon as you sign into your account, you should receive a 6 digit code. This 6 digit code is entered immediately after your password. For example, Password123456 and then you'd be able to sign in.

However, this has not been the case. I was able to resolve the issue by going to appleid.apple.com and turning off Two-Factor authentication and restarting the iMac.

Please let us know if this works for you.

I have had the same thing when my programs start up, the AppStore comes up and then I get an A for Apple store signon window that wants my Apple ID and at the top it was MZFInance.app.buynow and so on-- a long name

I looked it up and it's an app co for ANdroid yet I don't have ANdroid and have never bought it in the app store let alone anything financial , app-wise/

I called Apple and they put on a senior advisor who was rather alarmed and made a report about it and had me do a data capture to see what might have caused it. a big malfunction or dangerous? I have no viruses or malware acc to scans, either.

I too have been getting the iTunes inApp purchase prompt lately when I boot up. I did a Spotlight search on my Mac and found a couple of quite old iTunes purchase receipts with the following:

Apple ID Summary: https://buy.itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZFinance.woa/wa/accountSummary

Purchase History: https://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZFinance.woa/wa/purchaseHistory

So, what's going on?

I got this window too after restarting my Macbook today. I cancelled it, as it sounded suspicious for me. Following the idea of using Spotlight, my search took me to a couple of very old iTunes Store receipts (for some iPhone apps) I had in my Mail:

"...

Apple ID Summary: https://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZFinance.woa/wa/accountSummary

Purchase History: https://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZFinance.woa/wa/purchaseHistory

..."

Following those links prompted to open my iTunes. I cancelled that, as I did not want to mess-up with iTunes while checking something of dubious origin and getting to my account there.

Could that be that this MZFinance thing might be a third-party app that is used by some iOS apps? If so, why does not Apple just say so to those of you that contacted it? I did not see any recent info. Might it be a plist mishap, as an old post referred?

I will keep cancelling its request for password, in any case...

I spoke with someone at Apple support two days ago and he had never heard of the issue. He did not seemed concerned at all since I did not try to put in any login information..and since it only showed up once upon a restart. I am still alarmed and even more alarmed that the support desk person I spoke with took a no big deal attitude.

Hi guys I got the same popup.

I also did a virus scan (SOPHOS) and that did not seem to find anything.

But when seraching with cmd-space I found this link:

https: //buy.itunes.apple. com/WebObjects /MZFinance.woa/wa/accountSummary? app=itunes&ls=1

For me the extra weird thing is that this friday itunes (and my apple.id) stated that I had to change my password because of "security reasons".

A changed it myself, not clicking the popup but navigating trough apple.com to be safe - all seemed to be fine untill today.

I keep getting popups asking for the password, regular apple id trough itunes as well - and now this one.

Hope this thread will come up with some answers...

Hi there.

I, too, have been receiving the "MZ Finance.InAppBuyLogInRequired_message" recently, and interestingly, like you frensfromdelft, I received a strange Apple email also stating that one of my devices - my iPad mini to be precise - had been "deleted as a trusted device" from my account. This I thought odd as I had not made any changes at all in my account for some time. Like you, I went into my account directly through apple.com, never clicking on any links in the email message, reinstated the device in question, checked everything else and even changed my password. All seemed to be in order.

This MZ Finance message is disconcerting and I'm checking my iTunes account often to be sure there are no purchases or other changes I have not made.

The only common denominators I see for this weird message are: 1) I recently upgraded my Mac to El Capitan from Yosemite OS and did not receive this message prior to this, 2) This message started popping up after the last OS X El Cap and iTunes updates I installed on May 16, 2016, and 3) This message opens up periodically when I launch a third-party app - specifically Byword - that I purchased several years ago from the iTunes store.

Please keep me posted if you learn anything new, and I plan to check this forum often.

Thank you!

I occasionally have the pop box on my desktop wanting me to sign into MZFinance. It just comes on. I am leisurely reading emails that has nothing to do with iTunes. It pops up about once a week. I have never logged in, just cancelled the box. I don't trust what it is and after reading that no one else knows either, I definitely won't be logging in until Apple explains why this is happening.

Just got same popup and did not surrender my password.

my thought is the following:I purchased an Android device the other day and set up my iCloud account on it, and now I get this popup. So it may be possible that

some Android creep is trying to hack Apple accounts via the email user name. MThat might be the connection. But the sad fact that Apple is unaware of this fraud activity is more alarming than the attempt to hack!!!
