Trackpad delay (might be totally normal?)

Hey guys first time mac user here. I just purchased a new 13inch rMBP with the 8gb/258ssd set up and I love it so far. I have one issue that I've noticed however.

Using the trackpad is great. However if I use it to move the cursor and then I take a break to read a web page for example. 5-10 seconds later when I go to swipe a direction for the cursor to move, it will move but there is a slight (maybe half a second) delay/lag where the mouse doesn't move. Its almost as if the cursor just appears to the direction I swipe, without actually seeing it move there. Kinda hard to explain and this may be a normal thing but it still throws me off since its not entirely smooth like it would be with a physical mouse.

Any input on this? Does anyone else's rMBP behave this way? Still within the return period so if its a defective trackpad id want to return it.

I have the same problem. Updating to 10.10.2 fixed the problem temporarily, but it then returned worse than ever. It's basically occuring 50% of the time that I go to either MOVE, SWIPE or SCROLL. Thus, productivity is down and it interrupts the supposedly intuitive, seamless interface that we have come to enjoy from our MPBrs. I am going to seek a refund. It's just not acceptable.
