I ran the Wireless Dagnostic and it suggested the wi-fi network I already have would work better if it wasn't hidden. I would like to try this but don't want to have to create a new wi-fi network as I would then have to go around and reconnect each device. Can I "unhide" the existing network?

Yes. If you want to do this, simply uncheck the option to "create a hidden network" that is now checked, click Save, then click Update. Allow a minute for the Time Capsule to restart.
