Mac OS 9.1 How to connect to the internet

How do I connect to the Internet with PPP (dial-up access and a modem? What are the procedures. I am using a OS 9.1.
Please help.

The two simplest steps would be to use the Internet Setup Assistant which installs as part of OS9—well it did for me— and the instructions your ISP provides. And, of course, if your modem is not built-in, you'd have to ensure you have all the appropriate modem software in the appropriate places.

So:
What's the status of your modem and its software?
Do you have the necessary usernames, passwords, phone numbers and such from your ISP?
Are they happy/helpful with dialup from Macs, or completely ignorant especially of senior OS's?
Did you enter all the appropriate info in the Assistant when prompted?

Well, first you need an ISP=Internet Servce Provider to provide you with internet service.

You can then go to your Mac OS Help Menu for detailed instructions. You will need to make the connection through your TCP/IP Control Panels.
