Epson Workforce Pro wf-4630 will not connect.

I just purchased the Epson all-in-one and am trying to connect wirelessly. I downloaded the drivers and updated them....and I downloaded the Epson drivers from Apple. No luck.

The computer does "see" the Epson fax.

When attempting to add "IP" it does say valid and complete host name or address. The Use: EPSON WF-4630 Series indicates properly but when I click "add"...I get "Unable to verify the printer on your network".

Thank you in advance.

This is a good start, It indicates that the Mac and Epson are on the same IP subnet. Next to the entry of Epson fax, does it show Bonjour or something similar? If so, then this shows that the fax component uses Bonjour to advertise itself but the printer component could use a different protocol. Have you checked any supporting documentation? Is the printer component meant to be visible in the same manner?

Some printer drivers don't work when creating the printer this way. If the Epson driver does support this type of connection, then you may need to select an alternate IP protocol. By default, IPP is the default protocol set when creating an IP printer. If you remove this printer and try again, this time selecting HP Jetdirect-Socket for the protocol, you may have more success.

Is it to just, to not go through the process of connecting the wifi?

Yes. You should be able to connect the Epson to the Mac via the USB cable and add the printer. And then not worry about adding the printer to your wireless router. The only thing you may find is that if there is a WiFi LED on the printer, this may continue to blink as it waits for you to complete the wireless setup. If this is happening and becomes annoying then you may be able to disable the WiFi setup via the printers control panel or via an Epson utility, which you may be able to access by selecting the printer in Printers & Scanners and then clicking on Options & Supplies > Utility > Open Printer Utility.
