Why won't my iphoto book send to apple?

Hello! I have the old version of iPhoto, which I have used many times to create iphoto books. The last one I made was October 2013. I log in, amend my credit card info (which I've learned that I have to do every time) and it uploads the pages. Usually when that is complete, I get a "sending to Apple" message and another upload screen, followed by a confirmation email. This time however, I upload the pages, but it never sends to Apple. I never get another message- it just reverts back to the credit card info/buy now screen. Help! I've got about 20 hours in this book!! The thought of losing it makes me sick! If I purchase iphoto '11 (I haven't because friends told me the old version was better) will it keep my projects?
