How do I connect an iRig Pro from my MacBook Pro and use GarageBand to record audio from a band's audio system microphones?

How do I connect an iRig Pro audio interface from my MacBook Pro and use GarageBand to record audio from a band's audio system microphones? I know I need to connect the iRig Pro via USB on the MAC and XLR or 1/4 TSR adapter to the band's audio system. Haven't been able to test it. I have tried connecting a microphone to the XLR cable direct but can't it to record in GarageBand. Thanks

GarageBand (Mac) '11, OS X Mavericks (10.9.4)

Try Applications > Utilities > Audio MIDI Setup.

I'm afraid I can't simulate your issue as I have no iRig Pro, so I would just look around in there and make sure there aren't any issues.

If that doesn't work, try making a new project in GarageBand, click Empty Project, and then the Microphone. Underneath the microphone you just clicked will be input, output, reset setting, etc. You may be able to resolve your problem by playing around with these.

I'm sorry I couldn't be of any more help.
