Linc Davis doesn't get nearly enough acknowledgment

So, I've had a few occasions to post questions on these forums, but more often when I have a problem I find that someone else has already worked it out, and quite often the best answers keep coming from the same source: Linc Davis - the admin's hero. This guy is everywhere, patiently dealing with all of Apple's foibles as well as our own, wading through the thousand lines of code posted by unfortunate newbs, and generally putting out a big ol' smackdown of clear-minded brilliance from which we all benefit on a regular basis.

If you're one of those many for whom Linc's work has made even a smattering of difference, then please give a shout out to this largely unsung hero.

Thanks all,

Paul W.

Flattery and other sorts of self-seeking-gain heralding is something I try to avoid, believing compliments should be honest and genuine. That said, I'd be remiss to not join this thread as without out a doubt, I appreciate you and ALL of your help so much, Linc. I have used your answers numerous times. I've even copied some of your answers to an offline "Helps" notebook when debugging my friends & families Apple devices. I often google a problem, adding your name to the search, hoping you've addressed it at sometime in the past.

I fear the day you stop posting as that just may be the impetus for us to transitioning away from our nearly 2 dozen apple products, given you've been one of the few who offer informed and educated answers to problems that seem to otherwise go unanswered.

Thank you very much, Linc!

Sincerely,

Jack

Just one more small voice out here to join the chorus and give a shout out to Linc Davis. A problem with "autofill not working" could not be solved by Apple tech support and had us completely frustrated. Linc (July 12, 2014) not only solved the problem, he graciously credited another Apple Support Community member (iNeight) with the solution. From now on, I too will Google an Apple product problem and attach Linc's name to see if he's already posted a solution. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

I have to say - the words of praise on this thread are extremely well deserved. I had an issue with accidentally deleting iPhoto and came across his post about a redemption code from Apple - it helped get iPhoto back - and this after Apple's own support suggested a complete reinstall of the OS - saved me a bunch of work - Thanks Linc Davis!

Is my superhero a real person? Sometimes I think he is a pseudonym for a cabal of Apple programmers! Whichever - he is totally admired, yea, even revered, member for us MacFumblers.

May I also dare say that if his personality is as good as his Mac skills he is indeed a rarity. It has been a while since I needed his skills, but I seem to remember that he is tremendously courteous and patient.
