mac running slow, please help

Thanks to both of you, I am attempting to do what you have said but i really am not that wonderful with mac's so i am having a little trouble finding exactly how to remove the items you suggest

I have also tried to update java but it fails even time i open it and creates a report. Not sure what to do now

Thanks, I think I have now deleted it but still cannot find out how to delete the trusteer one. Where do i locate it to delete it?
