copy/paste Volume automation to another track in logic X

Try this:

• 1) Select the source Track and click ctr+cmd+E. That opens the Automation Event List. This is the List Editor showing all the Automation Data on that Track
• 2) Click on one event in the list and then cmd+A to select all Events.
• 3) Hit cmd+C to all the selected Events to the clipboard
• 4) Select the target Track you want to copy the Automation to and click ctr+cmd+E again to open another Automation Event List, this time to display its automation data. It should be empty
• 5) Click inside the empty list and hit cmd+V to paste all the automation data from the clipboard to this Track
• 6) There is no step six.

Make sure that the target Track has the same components (Sends, plugins, etc) as the source Track, so the automation data match.

For an the y of an X/Y controller, I tried duplicating an Aux track automation. I copied the plugin then the automation but the automation is assigned to "43 unused". I selected all the automation data and right clicked it. I could seemingly reassign the automation destination( the knob) but Logic does not reassign the automation nodes to that knob after I select it. Bug?
