i have just bought a macbook air and i mostly watch movies on it, but recently i have been getting pop up ads on my home screen and they are annoying. just wondering how to get rid of them.

I Suggest you install a Safari extension (adblock). Also, you can block pop ups in Safari preferences.

I Am not on my Mac at the moment. One of the preferences has a check box to allow or block pop ups.
