i want to connect my xbox one to my iMac and i want to use my iMac as a monitor. i used a hdmi into my xbox one and a mini display port in my iMac. the iMac desktop is still showing and i don't know how to change it to the xbox menu. i don't know how to change the screen to my xbox menu can someone guide me please? (I have the mid 2011 27 inch mac.)

According to the table in the linked document, you must use the Thunderbolt port; I don't know if you can use a thunderbolt to displayPort cable or adaptor, though the article seems to indicate it is possible.
The command F2 mode seems to allow only mac to mac display connection. It doesn't work for any other inputs.

i have seen that but when i connect the two devices and i press cmd-F2 nothing happens. i don't know if i have the right cable because the computer is not receiving anything.
