Is there a browser that will trick website into thinking it's Internet explorer

I work for USPS. On the employee site where you can do all your HR information, updates, apply for reassignment, etc. works except for the one utility I really need to use. It will not work without internet explorer. Surely there is some browser out there that will trick that website into believing it's dealing with IE. Leave it to the post office to be archaic and out of date. I need to search for jobs and can't. It's infuriating. I can't do it at work on the stupid windows computer we have because it's now allowed. It's Kafkaesque.

Open Safari preferences, click on the Advanced icon in the toolbar. Check the box at the bottom to show the Develop menu. In the Develop menu select User Agent then select the desired version of IE. Refresh the page for the desired site. Now this does not work with all such sites. If will not work with sites that are using ActiveX, for example. If it is then you will need to rethink your idea of the Post Office being archaic. Even if they are, they certainly don't qualify as Kafaesque unless you haven't read the books.

Well I'm going to try to keep fiddling with your suggestion. The site says it only uses IE 7.0 or 8.0 so I put it on 8 and it's not working yet but I'm going to fiddle around with it later. Thanks for the tip in spite of your snarky Kafka comment. I have read Kafka. I'm referring to the fact that they won't let me use the windows computer at work to go into the eBidding; I have to do it at home. Where there is no windows computer. I may have been exaggerating but it's quite frustrating. I've never gotten on the site.

No, I don't, and that is one reason I'm not giving you my real name and address - too many bad stories about "going postal." 😁😝

I would suggest trying to use FireFox. I have found it to be fairly cooperative at some IE-only sites in the past. If the website goes back that far, then almost anything recent may no longer work. IE has progressed quite a ways since that version.
