Help! How to revert back to folder?

I had a folder with about 10 documents made in Mac Pages. I renamed the folder with the ending .pages, and now my Mac believes that the folder is a file made by Pages. And of course, I now cannot open the folder with the Pages documents! How can I get this "actually a folder" my desktop (Mac 10.9.3) to revert back to folder so that I can open it? I tried changing the name as well as changing the icon back to folder but that still does not open the file. When I go to "Get Info" I don't have the choice of "open with" or "open as" folder. Help!
