No record enable bottons in GarageBand

I just purchased a brand new MacBook Air five days ago to use almost exclusively for recording tracks on garageband. Everything has been working fine, however I just noticed that there are no record enable bottons for individual tracks. This has been extremely frustrating because everything has been a hit or miss. Ive tried changing the input source in preferences, but that hasn't worked either. HELP!!!!!

The Record Enable Button is a component of the Track Header that can be Show/Hidden.


Here are the two locations:


From the Main Menu, choose Track ➤ Track Header ➤ Show/Hide Record Enable Button

Right+click on a Track Header to bring up the Shortcut Menu ➤ Track Header Components Show Hide Record Enable
