Some videos in the keynote does not play when in presentation mode, what should I do?

Thank you. That fixed it for me.

On that slide, click on the thumb nail on the left and select Start Transition to "On Click", and then click on each layer of the slide and also change it to "On Click" even if it already is "On Click".

Then add the "Start Movie" animation back. And everything should work 🙂

Having the same issue- my video will begin and play finally when I check the box to start "on click", but I still want the slide to automatically transition to the next slide after the video concludes.

Either use Recorded Slideshow to programme the timing (Play > Record Slideshow)

or set in Inspector > Animate:

in the Start Transition dropdown menu select: Automatically

in the Delay entry box, enter the duration in seconds that the video plays

Open the video file in Quicktime Player and post back if the video plays correctly and what CODEC is used

use command I to open the inspector, the CODEC is listed in format

Mac OS X has built in support for H264.

Check that it can play while in edit mode: double click the video on the slide, does it play?

I am having this same problem too. I have seen several responses to other people who have posted looking for help with this same problem. So, far none of his responses have seemed to be effective.I think Apple has really dropped the ball with this update to 6.2.x. I can do everything I have always done with Keynote but play videos. Yes, they are all encoded using the H.264 codec. Many were even created using iMovie. And, they all play when you click on them, in edit mode, but when you attempt to run a presentation every video plays for less than a second and then quits. This problem has occurred ever since they started giving iWork away, post the official release of OS X Mavericks.

The current project I am working on I am using video clips I created with iMovie and they still will not play in presentation mode. I am afraid we are not going to have a solution until Apple owns up to the error it has made and addresses it with new code.

Check movie play is set correctly;

Click on the video on the slide,

Inspector > Movie > remove the tick in the Start movie on click

I am having the same problem - I create a short, 30 second video in iMovie and inserted it into a keynote presentation. I made sure that the "start movie on click" box in Inspector was not ticked. The movie plays for about half a second then stops. Does anyone know if there is a way to troubleshoot this?

Is there any update on this?! I've rendered the videos out of After Effects at 1440 x 1080 as the screens I am using are 4:3. Every time I load a video into Keynote and press play it just stops after a second or 2. Every so often I'd get through a video clip but when I try to play it again it just stops.

The video is Quicktime HDTV. Please help! I have a very important presentation this coming Thursday. Nothing seems to work!

What CODEC is used, is it interlaced or progressive?

Does it play in Quicktime player for the complete duration?
