Side note, off-topic – and I don't expect the new images below to be visible to everyone – the subject line of this topic seems to be gaining Re: words without explanation. There should be no such prefix. I wonder whether this post from me (the opening poster) will cause the opening post to apparently gain a third Re: without me editing that post …

Summary


It's wrong to present any number of 'Re: ' prefixes above the opening post; the opening post is not a reply.

Both of my screenshots show the opening post (2014-08-31 01:06).


A single 'Re: ' prefix would be appropriate above a reply but not above the opening post.


If the forum can show a reply as a single post, then it would be OK to show 'Re: ' at the head of the page in that context.


Where the opening post is first, it's wrong to have a header (above that post) that shows 'Re: '.
