Boot app: 2681261667 iOS7.1.2 iPhone4

Not sure why this particular error does not show up when searching in the forums but I have seen several threads. But this did not occur on my iPhone 4 on the other iOS until iOS 7.x

I upgraded it from iOS 5.x and now it keeps rebooting when I wakeup or (sometimes during the sleep)

When I look in the logs around the time of the crash I see 2 files around that time:

Date-time.panic.ips that has "bus type":"110"

And

ResetCounter-Date-time.ips that shows "Reset count", "bug_type":115 and Boot app: 2681261667

Currently it only crashes when it "wakes up" or (sometimes) go to sleep.

There is a mention of that this can be a hardware issue but it only occurred after the upgrade and only when the device tries to wakeup, so I don't believe it is a memory issue. It definitely seems repeatable at certain conditions.

If I reset everything, I can do multiple cycles of waking up the phone without it crashing. However the iPhone would just be a phone with no apps. Having apps in the background does worsen this behavior, especially with FaceTime (which does not even work anymore, since the certificates expired). Facetime can sendand receive calls but fails when it connects/confirm the parties involved.

The phone has exceeded the warrantee so what can I do to fix this issue?

Thanks,

H

Troubleshooted the issue with a tech online (since it is free if it (iOS) was upgraded recently) and was told to bring it into the genius bar.

Genius bar verified that it was an hardware issue. Seems that they found that the current fluctuation was causing the phone to crash. Not clear why it did not crash on wake but it occurs on sleep and when the phone was "powered down" or why it occurred only after the iOS upgrade. I asked how I could have prevented it but was told that the cause was not clear.

Phone was replaced which would have costed $149 but was waived. (happy I got an replacement but sad this was not the iPhone 4 that I had preordered which marked the last phone from the great Mr. Jobs 😟)

Thanks Everybody and the support techs at Apple and I hope this can help others.
