Action: Skip on install package

I trashed iTunes 7, I trashed everything having to with iTunes. Now when i try to install iTunes 6.0.5, the install package opens, it say's it's running something to determine if it can be installed, then I have to agree, then it goes to the install screen..all normal so far, but then it lists the package names (iTunes, iPoddriver for Mac OS X 10.2.8, iTunes phone driver) and they are all greyed out. In the "Action" column of the install screen it says "skip" next to each item. When I click "install" it says "You cannot continue. There is nothing to install."

how do i install 6.0.5 ? and what do you think went wrong?

if it helps, i'm trying not to loose all the smart playlists that I have made in iTunes prior to my upgrade to 7. All of my music is on my external hardrive. I "exported" an .xml file of my Library before I upgraded. I hope this will save my playlists and whatnot. I just don't want to trash any files that have my smart playlists.

As of now, my iTunes music folder has the following in it:

Album Artwork (folder)
iTunes Library (iTunes Database file)
iTunes Music (some music that is on my computer HD and not my external)
iTunes Music Library.xml (text document)
Previous iTunes Libraries (Folder)
Temp File (text document)

I hope this helps. What do i need to trash? What do I need to save to retain my library and playlists?

Please help!!
