Need help with LG Tone Pro HBS-750 bluetooth headset

Ok so after almost a year of frustration with my motorola sliver 2 headset, I finally got me a LG tone pro. I absolutely love it with one exception. With my iphone connected to it, all my text tones come through the earbuds, which means if I don't have one of them in my ear I can't hear it. With a call the headset vibrates and my phone also rings so no missing that but with text there is no vibration from headset which is normal but the sound instead of coming from phone comes through earbuds. I have missed a lot of text over last few days. I paired it up with my company phone which is android and text notification sound comes through phone but I can't figure out out how to make that happen with iphone 5 any ideas??
