I Would suggest signing out of iTunes on iPad, iphone, or ipod. While signed out, go to iTunes Store and search for album, you will notice the FREE button. When you click, it will ask to create or use existing Apple ID, choose existing. It may give you a message saying "you have already purchased the album, do you want to purchase again?" Click "buy" since it's free it will not charge you, but it will begin downloading album

this goes to the person who is wondering why their U2 Album isn't showing up. I don't how but I'm guessing I have it in which i have never bought it. I googled to why i have these songs i never bought and this came up. Coincidence or is it just that the icloud server is overwhelmed since today is the announcing day for the iphone 6. I swear, i am not a hacker or anything like that. I was just studying for my music test that is tomorrow and a u2 song pops up. I was wondering if my phone accidentally switched to Pandora or iTunes radio but i guess i have it even though I don't listen to u2 at all. I'm wondering if its the album "songs of innocence" this person bought because to be honest, i don't want them on my phone and I tried closing my music app and going back on and the u2 album is still there. Ill try to turn on and off my phone if it helps and try deleting all my music and syncing them back to my phone.

Manny, it is not a coincidence. With the iPhone 6 announcements, Apple has decided that everyone likes U2; if you don't, you should. Soon, all of our other music will be automatically deleted, except for the new U2 album, Songs of Innocence. Our music library will be nice and clean that way. Later, Apple might decide what else we should like, and will automatically put that music into our libraries. Simple!

Dale's method works, but with a trackpad it's hard to click the icon and get down to the Free button quickly enough before it turns to a greyed out Purchased. If you're having that problem, just use command-R like you would in Safari, and keep your cursor hovered over the Free button and click like mad as soon as it appears.

I don't think this is a problem with Apple ID or passwords. I think it's some kind of rollout technique to keep the servers from getting overwhelmed. To keep their promise, the album showed as "Purchased" 5 seconds after Bono said "go", but to roll it out they greyed out the purchase button so everyone wasn't downloading it simultaneously. I suspect the US got it instantly and other regions followed.

My U2 album is not showing up!
