So we all have a free U2 album in our iTunes library now. I don't like U2 and don't want it. I get an option to 'hide' it in iTunes, but not to delete it. How can I remove it entirely from my library in iCloud? I have just been to iCloud.com, but can't see anything there.

I can confirm it works for me.
Thanks to Apple for implementing this option, and to King_Penguin for letting us know about it.
Finally an option to remove it and I won't pay much attention to Peterboy

Thanks to AM Sayer (OP) and a belated thanks to Apple who have at last recognised the democratic swell of opinion against the unasked for inclusion of the U2 album in their cloud and taken action. The link works perfectly. A victory for freedom of choice (sorry CSound1). Thanks to all

think about it really if they can add something to your phone without notification then someone can remove it also. I mean **** didn't a bunch of celebs just get hacked? even though apples saying its not from their software it really makes me think that if they have a way into our devices to install an album I bet theres a way to access your info to some extent that way possibly even gain complete access to everything on the device and you would never know.
I also posted the link shortly before, and have marked it as a 'solution', so it should show up appended to the first post now. Hopefully that will help others who are searching.

Sure, I can understand that.
They did not get "into your device". They put the album in iTunes in the Cloud and, based on the settings that you set up (i.e., Automatic Downloads), it may have downloaded to your device. Basically, iTunes in the Cloud simply points to media in the iTunes Store, so that if you have deleted it from your Library (which lives on your computer), and want to re-download it, the record of your purchase has a link to where that item is in the iTunes Store, and it allows the re-download. That is why, if an Album, Book, Movie, etc. is deleted from the iTunes Store, then you cannot re-download it.
