Problem with iTunes Store account/free U2 album?

For a while now, my iTunes account has had problems with automatic downloads such as pre-orders, which simply would not download OR show up in my iTunes library on the cloud, leading me to cancel my preorders and re-purchase the albums. But now, I went to go listen to the U2 album that is supposedly already in everyone's iTunes libraries and it isn't there at all. On iTunes, it shows I've already "purchased" the album so it should already be there, yet it isn't. Is this due to the album being released in a rolling fashion, and I should just try again later in the day? Someone help me out here, because this is really weird.

It showed as 'purchased' for me as well.

If you turn on 'show iTunes in the Cloud Purchases' on the Store tab in Edit > Preferences (iTunes > Preferences on a Mac) does it show with the cloud icon n the Music part of your library for downloading, and/or does it show in the Purchased link under Quick Links on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page for downloading ?

For the LP how are you downloading it ? For me it only works downloading it from Purchased, not via the cloud icon (i.e. if you have 'show iTunes in the Cloud Purchases' ticked on the Store tab in Preferences) from my actual Music library.

So try deleting it from the Music part of your library. And then go into the Purchased link under Quick Links on the right-hand side of the iTunes store homepage and redownload it from there - that version works for me.

I tried everything listed in the posts here - upgraded iTunes, turned Match off and back on, checked for downloads, went to purchased, went to the link that goes to the iTunes store. All I get is the album showing up in iTunes as a digital booklet (that is corrupted), a button to play iTunes LP, that doesn't work, and no songs listed under the album.

This better not be a preview of the Watch roll-out. Going with U2 was already risky, since anybody under 40 thinks that this is proof that Apple is a bunch of out-of-touch geezers. For those of us over 40 who would actually like the album, they FUBAR'd it completely. A smart company would have looked at the user data they have on all of us and pushed it first to people who already have U2 in their library or are over 40. Once they got that right they could have pushed it to the Beliebers. Jeez, it's not rocket science.
