Cannot download U2's "Songs of Innocence" from iTunes

Make sure that in preferences you have the 'cloud' ticked first.

Log out of iTunes on your Mac, close it down.

Re-open iTunes, log in.

On your Artists list go yo U2.

You will see the album there with the iCloud icon next to it. Download. 🙂

Hi. None of the above solved the problem for me. Instead, I had to go (in my iphone) to adjustments, then to Itunes store & app store, and there uncheck music and videos from showing up (even if not on the iphone), uncheck automatic downloads (for music), and I did check "use mobile data" for automatic downloading.

After that, I went back to the itunes store, and the free download button reappeared.

I'm still having this issue also. Where is the 'preference' I'm supposed to check? I don't see an iCloud option in iTunes on my Mac and I don't see an 'iTunes' option in icloud preferences. Any help is appreciated.

Open itunes preferences, click on the store icon, then make sure "Show iTunes in the Cloud purchases" is checked.

That's all I had to do, then I went to the Albums view of iTunes and found it right away, just like it said in the store.

In my case I deactivated iTunes Match, deleted all music content from my iPhone, logget out from itunes store and logged in again. After this I was able to download the album.

Typical. If Apple has so many difficulties giving us presents, we'd better give ourselves some.

My card has recently expired. Since the new U2 album was presented as a present I feel card information shouldn't be relevant. Or wait, let me try this: Apple, I'd like to give you a present, but just to be sure: can you send me your credit card information first?

Go to Store tab

About half-way down tick off "Show iTunes in the Cloud purchases"

The default for this must be off.

I've been having the same issue. I was finally able to download it. This is what I did. I signed out of my account in iTunes, went to the store and found the album and pressed the "Buy" button. I signed in and a dialog box opened to ask if I wanted to re-purchase the album. I clicked yes and it downloaded. Give it a shot.

Beware of the re-purchasing method as I got charged for the album even though I had the album as purchased.

Those of you who can't see the album after checking the show icloud box should check if the purchase is hidden.

Go to iTunes, "view Account" and in the iTunes in the Cloud section go to Manage hidden purchases.

This was the only one on this thread that fixed it. I found it right away and it worked great. Thanks - didn't know this existed.
