A1586: This version is sold locked on some CDMA carriers in the US like C Spire, Sprint and US Cellular. This is the most versatile version but you won’t be able to unlock it easily in the US. Therefore, you have more chances to buy the factory unlocked A1586 in Asia or Europe. The unlocked version is also available on Amazon through some retailersbut it can be a little more expensive. The model works on CDMA EV-DO Rev. A and Rev. B (800, 1700/2100, 1900, 2100 MHz), GSM/EDGE (850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz), UMTS/HSPA+/DC-HSDPA (850, 900, 1700/2100, 1900, 2100 MHz) and TD-SCDMA 1900 (F), 2000 (A). Compatible 4G LTE bands are FDD-LTE (Bands 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 13, 17, 18, 19, 20, 25, 26, 28, 29) and TD-LTE (Bands 38, 39, 40, 41 which are corresponding to frequencies 2600 Mhz, 1900 Mhz, 2300 Mhz and 2500 Mhz). Along with the iPhone 6 Plus A1524, this model supports both TD-SCDMA bands of China Mobile and band 39 for TD-LTE. The bands 38 and 40 are also available, so you absolutely can use LTE in Europe, Asia and Latin America. The LTE will work on China Mobile Hong Kong, CSL, Hutchison, SmarTone in Hong Kong, Deutsche Telekom, O2, Vodafone in Germany, Optus (Virgin), Telstra, Vodafone in Australia, and 3, EE, O2 (Giffgaff), Vodafone in the UK.

So,what you mean is that i can't buy the A1586 in US,why is it listed? It's weird why not...

Not weird at all - in fact makes perfect sense. Model A1586 is sold in the USA as the CDMA phone for Sprint, carrier locked. CDMA models are never sold unlocked. There never will be an unlocked A1586 model sold in the USA. Eventually, the A1549 GSM (used by AT&T and T-Moble) will be sold unlocked and SIM free

MIne is A1586, that is what Apple shipped to me when I bought the unlocked, SIM free iPhone 6.

Yes. All of the info you received was wrong. You can get that model in the US. Not just Sprint. I have one I unlocked from US Cellular and any SIM card works. I use att and T-Mobile and both can use LTE. I even use this when I go overseas. You want the A1586. I have noticed this wrong information floating around a lot. And Apple should do more to stop all this confusion. Instead of just deleting helpful comments.

Yet 15 months ago, when those replies to the op were originally posted, they were indeed correct.

Sorry but the information is not correct. i said these posts not the first post in general. I had my iPhone 6 when it came out with USCellular and no problem when I unlocked it in December (2014). Regardless of anything these posts say the model works. And it worked after I unlocked it with LTE carries without fail. But you can try and prove me wrong with borrowed knowledge from the internet all you want. The fact is the model is compatible unlocked world wide, with some problems only when in Shanghai. And China doesn't count anyway.

It was true a year ago as well. i replied to the very first poster so they could know. Someone who just replies to my thread like yourself have no clue what you are talking about. Including the reply trying to sound smart saying the the iPhone wasn't out yet. I had my phone unlocked in 2 months after it came out. and no problems. I am sorry to come off rude and I am not trying to argue. I am just saying there were no limits with the model and you can buy it in the US and after its unlocked you will have an awesome model. If you can show me proof that this phone model didn't work as I say or wasn't available in US except for Sprint between September and December I will be issue an apology. Good luck,

Actually, you started off by repeatedly calling us "idiots". That post was deleted by the hosts after which you reposted, complaining that Apple deleted your "helpful" post.

You've also completely missed the topic of this thread which is about purchasing a new "factory unlocked" phone, not getting a previouly locked phone unlocked as you did. Stop wasting everyone's time with your irrelevant nonsense.

No, everything I and others said was correct at the time of the posts, proven by yourself - otherwise you would have purchased the phone unlocked instead of getting it unlocked months later.

As with many of your brethren, you jump into extinct threads to troll, only to document your own ignorance. At this point, I'm invoking the DNFTT protocol. Best of luck!

You shouldn't feed yourself then. Sorry, but you were still wrong regardless. There was no problem with the model buying unlocked to start or not. And i wouldn't have even posted if there was never misinformation being fed to the asker. And we are talking less than two months. Was your info good until I unlocked mine? Anyway, have a nice day.
