Buy iPhone 6 in US （A1586）

So I should go to an Apple Store in US and buy the sprint one straight away paying the full price but should not turn it on or activate right? Rather activate it in India by inserting my Indian carriers sim?

Well, you can activate in the US but with your carrier sim. I tell you not to trust in that image because I asked apple and sprint employees and they told me that my iphone wouldn't work with my carrier sim.

CCause this Apple employee just told me that i need to activate on sprint first then get it unlocked for international use. Is that correct ?

Don't do that. Seriously. If you activate it first with the sprint sim, it'll not be international unlocked, and Sprint won't unlocked it un least you are a customer and have the iPhone for three months since you activate it.

Trust me. Buy it full price, and activate it with your carrier sim.

ALright thanks a lot Pablo and you said to activate with my carrier sim, my carrier sim will not be functional in US cause I'll not be getting the international roaming pack so will I be able to activate then also with it while in US

Hello! Can you please confirm the said method andy. Not that I mistrust Pablo but I would like to reconfirm if the said method works.

Also for you andy I found some deals on ebay for a1586 for sprint which was a few bucks cheaper and may be helpful to us hopefully. Please do let me know if the said method works.

regarding the eBay deal I would prefer buying it from Apple store for then you know it's more trustworthy getting the product directly from them

Infact the apple retail store people in NYC said that if you buy A1586 at full price and don't activate any service when you buy the phone at the Apple retail store than it is locked to Sprint locally in the US but is "UNLOCKED INTERNATIONALLY".

Anecdotal evidence appears to support that UK users are using the A1586 in Uk with UK Carrier sims

But always be aware the warrnty is NOT international Apple may support a US purchased iPhone outside the US but it is not guaranteed as manty have found out

I bought a iphone 6 A1586 in the USA. In the US it is locked to the CDMA Sprint network, however it is unlocked to all GSM carriers. I do not believe that it matters which US network the phone is locked to in the US as they is CDMA - all that we need is to be sure that it is the A1586 model as they are unlocked to all GSM carriers.

Happy to report that it works great here in the UK.
