Q: iTunes 11.4 not showing in Mac App Store Updates

iTunes says I have an update, but when I hit Download it opens the App Store, which checks for updates then says I have none. Also the version on the iTunes website is still 11.3.1. Help me Obi Wan, you're my only hope!

MacBook Pro, OS X Mavericks (10.9.4), 16GB 256SSD

Mine download automatically with no problem and when I go to https://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ I see 11.4 -- is that where you are seeing 11.3.1?

    Same problem (just about)!

My thread: iTunes won't update from 11.1.5 to 11.4. Why?

11.4 has been so problematic for me (Bad kext installed, iTunes Helper constantly crashes, iOS devices refuse to sync), I really wish I could find a way to download 11.3.1 and get back to a functional installation while I wait for 11.4.1. If you've got a secret for finding 11.3.1, I'd love to hear it.

    I've uploaded 11.3.1 here: http://www.mediafire.com/download/cu44bb0te62b7p4/iTunes11.3.1.dmg

You will probably have to delete your current install first, which is tricky but here's how:

    1. Launch the Terminal, located in /Applications/Utilities/

    2. Type the following at the command line to change to the Applications directory: cd /Applications/

    3. Then to delete iTunes: sudo rm -rf iTunes.app/

If this doesn't work you will of course need to reinstall iTunes 11.4. Good luck!

    Thanks, Yarrow, that helped.

...which is to be expected, so I cracked open the installer with Pacifict and replaced each of the components as well before reinstalling. Worked like a charm.
