Does the iPhone 5 running IOS 8 support WiFi calling?
iPhone 5, iOS 7.1.2, T-Mobile version
I do not believe so, but you can check this support link to compare the phones. http://www.apple.com/iphone/compare/
It's in the beta, should be there in the GM.
Also, tmobile announced all phones being sold going forward will support wifi calling.

T-Mobile's announcement comes one day after Cook revealed T-Mobile as the only wireless operator in the U.S. to support Wi-Fi calling for the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus. In June, Legere confirmed that the carrier's network would support iOS 8's Wi-Fi calling feature.
Thanks Johnathan…I knew it was turned on by Apple in beta 3 but I still can’t find an answer for which iPhone models it applies to… I knew that the IP 5 was the baseline for a lot of the new things in IOS8, but it’s had to find out if the IP 5 has the correct electronics to support the new WiFi calling.. Oh well, it’ll be out in GM pretty soon so I may as well wait and see.
Thanks for the info…
Nope, it will not. I have T-Mobike and downloaded the update a couple of hours ago and there is no wi-fi calling. T-Mobile forums are blowing up. Talked to an advanced tech at T-Mobile and they are baffled because they were told the only problem with wifi calling may be the 4s, but were told iPhone 5 and above would be getting it since it was successful in beta for the 5. Adding to the confusion is that the 5c and 5s did get wifi calling with the update, but the confusing part is that the 5c is the same hardware as the 5. So, T-Mobile is perplexed that the 5c got wifi calling, but not the 5. They told me it was an Apole decision and apparently Apple led them to believe 5 and above would have wifi calling with no problems.
Thanks for the info Ranger375. I have the same issue and this is the closest answer i got so far.
Yes it does. Just updated to iOS8 today and when turned on wifi-calling it now displays 'T-MOBILE WIFI' in between the signal bars and clock.
Forgot to add that this is also carrier dependent - such as T-Mobile (and Sprint?) will only work. AT&T will follow in 2015.
Yes it does! I also have T-Mobile and it is working. You'd have to go to Setting>Phone>Wi-fi Calls....turn it on. Make sure you update the emergency address.
Mine is a T-mobile LTE unlocked iphone 5, using it on T-mobile.
I'm guessing some iPhone 5's have been left out. For example mine is an AT&T version which I purchased for full cost when they came out. This was just prior to a T-Mobile iPhone version being introduced. Nonetheless, the only difference I can discern is that the T-Mobile standard frequencies were not present on my earlier phone version.
I'm hopeful that this isn't something which is insurmountable. I'd like to have the full value of my purchase price realized. i know Apple can't add the T-Mobile frequencies, but at least they could deliver a software update version that permits Wi-fi calling.
Yes, I've updated to IOS8, but do not have the Wi-Fi calling menu that many with my iPhone 5 brethren are seeing. This may be the reason some are not seeing Wi-fi as well. I'd love to hear from anyone with some inside insights on this. Thanks.

You might want to give T-Mobile a call and see if they can send you over a 'carrier update'. If I'm not mistaken, the 4S and above should be able to work with Wi-Fi Calling.
A 5c is not a 5. Those users with 5c's and 5s's are not having this problem, just the original 5 owners.
I have T-Mobile as well.. Iphone 5, and I received the carrier update, but do not see wifi calling in the Phone settings menu...
what is the carrier version?
I originally had 17.0 but I got 17.1 earlier today.
