AVI file to Quick Time?
I downloaded a film that's in AVI format and my Quick Time doesn't want to play it for me. What do I do now?

Download a copy of VLC
Oh, yeah, I saw this on my husband's laptop. It's the one that has a orange cone as icon, isn't it?
Thanks, I'll try that

I just downloaded the VLC and tried to play the movie ... and nothing happened
I double-clicked on the VLC and opened it. A file opened and I found my film file. It says the codex is somewhat incorrect but it will play anyway. So I did and it plays so far.
Thanks so much ... although I might be back 😉
it has stopped after 6 minutes. I don't know what to do now.
Shall I export the file onto a blank DVD and then play the film on Windows?
I would get a copy that is not corrupted.
Changing players will not fix a corrupt file.
