iOS 8 Update Failed

Just tried to update my iPad Air to i OS 8 about half an hour after it was released to the public.

After the iPad restart in order for my Mac to install the software, a message came up in iTunes... Says iPad can't be updated at this time.

Basically I can't even use my iPad now because it's stuck in recover mode. Cant restore it either, "iPhone software update server cannot be contacted at this time please try again later".

Really need my iPad for school tomorrow and all my work is in there. I have backups but still...

Extremely disappointed, Apple 😟

Guys, I was having the same problem since last night and I just fixed it. Have been following this thread from the very beginning so thought to share how it got fixed.

Well download iOS 8 on your iTunes and try restoring it by connecting your iPhone to your desktop/laptop. If it fails again and again just be patient. The main reason behind it is the server. As expected everyone is trying to download iOS 8, which is actually causing the problem. I've been trying it for hours and got lucky to restore it maybe the load was not much now as it was before. So, if your phone is not restoring just wait for a while and it will surely work once the server is a bit off-loaded. I know how painful it is but all you can do now is just to wait. Hope you have backed-up all your photos and other medias as all the pictures will be deleted once you start using your iPhone/iPad/iPod. Contacts will automatically be saved on your phone if you have backed those up on iCloud.

Hope everyone gets back their devices back to normal and sorry for my English.

Cheers!
