Touch ID iPhone 5S Failed

Hello , i have an iPhone 5S , and i have a problem with Touch ID.

When i had iOS 7.1.2 , Touch ID wasn't even showing in settings , it said only passcode , and since i updated to iOS 8 , Touch ID appears in settings , but when i want to turn on iPhone Unlock or iTunes&AppStore and put my finger , it says "Failed , Unable to complete Touch ID setup. Please go back and try again." and i tried a lot of times and still not working..

Can you please help?

I just had the same situation as everybody here. Potential fix:

iPhone 5s, screen replaced one month ago. Yesterday Touch ID stopped working; in Settings, I suddenly had the same grayed out options for Touch ID, and was getting the Failed message when trying to set it up again.

I tried restarting and reseting several times, syncing, messing with other settings, nothing worked.

Today I let my battery drain completely until shutoff. Upon recharging and restarting, Touch ID was working again. Too soon to tell if this'll stick, but so far it recognizes all my saved fingerprints and all the options in Settings are back to normal – and I didn't have to walk into an Apple Store or restore from backup.

If anybody else has the problem outlined in this thread, let us know if the battery drain works for you.
