Instant Hotspot is the only thing of interest to me.
My wife, who has no tech savvy whatsoever, had no problem with her iPhone appearing under a new "Personal Hotspot" section of the wifi list on her iPad Mini.
However, I think Smidji may be correct, and although there is no list of "qualified devices", it appears that an iPad Gen 3 cannot connect via an Instant Hotspot. I am looking for confirmation one way or the other.
I checked "supportprofile", and since my wife's iPhone 5 Instant Hotspot works just fine without being on the list, I don't see it as a problem.
I Toggled Blootuth and iMessage.
I did restart both my iPhone 5C and iPad 3rd Gen.
But I couldn't locate a "toggle" for iCloud unless one means to actually log the iPad out of iCloud, which is not a simple toggle and involves the possible loss of photos and the need to re-establish contacts, etc.
However, if one means "iCloud Drive", my wife doesnt have it on, and her Instant Hotspot works just fine.
Besides, I read that turning on iDrive before it is also available for the iMac via Yosemite interferes with the current inter-iDevice sharing method.
Just for fun, I will also mention that placing and receiving phone calls via my iPad works just fine.
So was just wondering if anyone with an iPad 3rd Gen has or has not gotten it to connect via another iDevice's Instant Hotspot.
