iOS 8 - Weather in Notification Center Gone

I realized I needed to update the weather app, then on the pull down screen I had a notification to add the weather widget. I also reset and hard reset but updating the app worked.

Launch Apple's Weather app, let it locate you (it could take a few seconds), when it's done restart your iPhone and the weather will appear in the Notification Center. It worked for me.

I tried a combination of everything posted here & it finally worked. It's the little things about Apple software that make it enjoyable, but it's also the little hiccups that make it most frustrating. Now to figure out why the screen rotation option isn't showing up in the control center of my wife's iPad :-/ ......

I just got an iPhone 6. I have location services off and it's showing my city weather fine. But it also shows New York. No clue why. Haven't been to New York in about 50 years.

I just turned it off and back on but that did nothing. There is nothing in my Notification Center. How do I get rid of New York weather?

I spoke with AppleCare support for over 30 min and tried different methods of turning off the Location services, back on, reset, etc... and this was actually the first thing that finally worked for me...

As long as your location services for the Weather are on, launching the app, and once it recognizes/locates you, doing a hard reset... now its back in my notifications again!

I'm still getting New York as one of my options. I also have my city twice. Once with Notification and once without. And the temperature are different for my city.

How can I just get my city? I don't see how to edit this?

I was able to get the Weather app using my location and the weather showing in Notifications to work by resetting "Location & Privacy" and "Network Settings". Hope this helps!

I just turned Location Services off. Turned off my phone. Turned it back on, turned Location back on and it did nothing.

You have to go to "Settings" - "General" - "Reset" (at the bottom of the General page) then "Reset Location & Privacy". If resetting Location & Privacy doesn't help try "Reset Nework Settings".

I reset network settings and I still have New York along with my city twice. Plus one of my city it is using New Yorks weather

Can't say for sure, since I don't have the problem myself, but have you tried opening the Weather app? I know that the Weather app will let you add cities that you want to check the weather for--maybe New York was manually added? If so, try removing it. And of course the obligatory hard reset.

You can't remove it because it's native to the phone. I'm going so install another app and put this one where I don't have to look at it.

Did you also "Reset Location & Privacy"?

Yes did it all. Turned phone on and off. Just installed The Weather Channel. Got my on the first shot and lets me add other cities. For now it's fine since I don't like that it has my address on it. I'll see if I can tweak it.

IF your weather widget is not showing up in your notifications area:

Open up your default weather app

And let it search for your current location (allow access to location services if asked)

Then with the app open, shut down your device and then the widget will appear in your notifications.
