You're a god. Thanks a lot!
Did you have more than 1 keyboard active???
Like do you have Emoji, standard iOS and Swiftkey active?
Or just 2?
Does not correct issue if you have 3 keyboards active.
Thanks, worked for me too. I have 4 keyboards working now (Regular English (UK), Emoji, Swype and SwiftKey).
I wonder will Nuance rectify the bug in an update as i frequently use Guided Access?
So you don't ever see the standard keyboard and dont have to cycle through keyboards??
My sequence is below
First screen is Swiftkey and i tap Globe to go to Emoji
Then I'm on the Emoji screen i hit Globe to return to Swiftkey but I end up on standard keyboard
Then I hit Globe again to return to Swiftkey
Only reason I keep standard on is to have the microphone option.
I'm not exactly sure what your questions means.
I simply press and hold the globe button then a pop up menu of the 4 keyboards appears. I then tap which ever one I want to use and the keyboard layout changes to match my selection.
I don't have to have to cycle. Its slow.
I only need 2 keyboards.
The only reason I keep the standard keyboard on is for the microphone option.
I'd like to turn off standard as is rubbish but if I do I love microphone access.
3rd party keyboards dont have microphone.
No setting in privacy for it either.
Seems like a major omission and was wondering if anyone knows anything about it.
But yes you have answered one part of my question which is about cycling through keyboards so thanks.
It worked also for me
Thanks
I had the same problem so I deleted the old standard keyboard from the selection of keyboards and now swiftkey works fine.
Awesome @nds12! Thanks for the tip! It finally works....
We know this can be done, it is however not a solution as you lose access to the microphone, a feature used daily by many users including myself.
I do not have Guided Access enabled. I deleted all keyboards except Swype. iMessage still only shows the standard Apple keyboard. I'm unable to access the Swype keyboard. Note the same is true for Swiftkey, leading me to a conclusion that it iOS 8 may be the issue.
I think I have the same problem. My guided access is turned off, and I disabled all keyboards except Swype. In Mail, iMessage, and Notes, the keyboard reverts to the standard Apple keyboard (with no ability to access Swype). Safari allows the Swype keyboard to work though. As have you, I've tried this with other third party keyboards (Swiftkey, Touchpal) and replicate the same behavior.
However, the very strange thing is that the keyboards worked perfectly fine on my iPhone 5 running iOS 8. I'm seeing this problem on my iPhone 6 and my iPad 4.
I'm also having the same issue. The globe key does not appear in certain apps and I am unable to select a different keyboard. So far I've noticed it in Messages, Mail, and Notes. Even if I remove the default English keyboard, the app will revert to the default when opened. Other apps I've tried are working properly.
Swype keyboard not working.
