Handoff doesn't work

I Turn on AirDrop for everyone and it worked, then I turn it off and it still works, but when I turn off the bluetooth it stop working... I have an iPhone 5s and an ipad 4

I don't have Yosemite installed either.

I tried all the other suggestions with no luck. This suggestion worked, however. Signed out of iCloud, rebooted, signed back into iCloud on my iPhone 6 and iPad mini w/ retina. Now it works.

Ok here is how I fixed this problem for me. Maybe it'll work for some of you.

Turn off Handoff in the Settings and then sign out of iCloud on your device(s). After that reboot your iPad/iPhone, sign into iCloud and after that activate Handoff.

I have a brand new iPhone 6 and iPad mini. I am so frustrated!!!

Got it working on Thursday night. It has worked most of the time.after that After doing the Airdrop solution it worked. Then I turned off Airdrop (bluetooth still on) and it continued to work. It is still a bit temperamental and sometimes it will not connect immediately. I think that Bluetooth sometimes has problems "seeing" the other device. Can confirm that also works with Yosemite beta.

My wife's iPhone 5 and iPad mini work fine with exact same setting on my 6 and mini but I still can't get it working.

Thanks so much for the suggestion...I was having the same problem (handoff between IOS devices but not my Macbook Air running the Yosemite Public Beta)....I turned on AirDrop for "Everyone" and it's working!

The trick is to have the devices unlocked!... thanks for that.... it was killing me not to know what was going on!

does it really only work with the phone and iPad unlocked? What is the purpose then for the whole thing? It doesn't allow me to start writing in an email, turn off the phone and then continue with my iPad later on without having to unlock the iPhone.

That would be the use case for using a saved draft (Cancel, Save Draft, change devices, visit Drafts, reopen the appropriate draft, continue). I think Handoff if intended for a more immediate move from device to device.

I was finally able to make Handoff work between my iPhone 6 and my iPad Air when I made sure both devices were registered to my Apple ID (as suggested by OscarMeyerWeena above) in addition to having Bluetooth and AirDrop on.

I finally found out how to get it working.

I logout from iCloud on all my devices and restarted them.

Then I logged in again and that's it.

Even i am facing similar problem.. I am using two iPad4 devices and handoff feature is not working in this. i have turned on bluetooth, wifi, AirDrop enabled to everyone and even logged in using the same apple ID to iCloud. Will it work between two iPad devices? If yes then what might be the problem?

what are is iMac if it is 2011 or lees it want work beacose the bluetooth has to be lmp06

go to about this mac and hit system report then on left you see bluetooth hit that than you have to look for lmp version if you have 0x6 it will work if lmp version is 0x4 it want LMP Version: 0x4

Hi Guys,

I followed what some of the other users above suggested. That is to sign out of iCloud on all my devices and reboot the devices. Handoff worked right away after doing that.

The only thing I didn't like about handoff was that I needed bluetooth for it to work. I hardly ever have my bluetooth on because it drains my battery. I figured it would have been wiser to have it for on wifi also. Also considering that every other wireless function,i.e. airplay and so on uses wifi.
