Ipad mini with retina wifi extremely slow/dead after ios 8 update

Just updated my devices to iOS 8. Im having no issues with the Iphone 5s wifi works perfectly fine. But with the Ipad Mini w/ Retina I can't get any wifi. Its connected, I've reset the wifi & router. But my mini keeps saying there isnt any internet connection. Anyone else have this issue?

I'm regretting my download of the iOS 8 to my iPad mini. I deleted a signigant amount before downloading. I was fortunate to not have difficulty in the download itself. However once the dowload was finished, I recognized right away that safari was not performing the same. It was taking longer to open pages and there seemed to be issues with wifi. I did as someone else had suggested and reset my network settings. This did improve it a bit, but not entirely. It still is running slower then it previously was. So far I am not seeing the benefit of this update. Best of luck to everyone. I do hope that apple gets these issues sorted out for iPad users.

I Tethered to my iPhone 4s while on the road and things seemed a bit sluggish, so I decided to try airplane mode with wifi turned on on the iPad mini. Now everything is nice and responsive. I'll have to try the speed test when I get to "real" wifi and see if airplane mode with wifi turned on eliminates the dropout problem

Same problem in here as well..2x iPad mini,2x iP5s wireless slowness on 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz too. Funny thing is the slowness mostly experiencing while I am download or update something from the AppleStore. Also not possible to listen music through iTunes..Across LTE everything working fine.

Sure all the suggested option are tested: network reset, static dhcp, bluetooth off, reboot etc.. But without any success.. Any idea? How is apple reaction?

Thankyou for your help. Sadly this did not work for me and iOS 8 has still managed to kill an functionality as a tablet as wifi is not usable. So I will keep an ear out for updates coming up and if nothing is in the pipe line book a genius appt and get a replacement before warranty runs out at Christmas.

I don't want to be stuck with a bricked £600 iPad less than a year old. As it may as well be bricked with no wifi.

Going by later comments that it has not worked, the mini retina and air (being later machines than i have to hand 🙂 ) not being fixed by the reset, seems to do more with the alternative MAC later devices have for connect to WiFi routers.

Not all routers are the same, example, not all have the higher speeds, some older ones are very slow and might be incompatability with old routers, or even the latest ones - tricky do diagnose unless you can exoeriment by altering the WiFi speed and observing tests.

if making the network settings static works, that i assume bypasses this later Apple AIR bespoke option, sending device traffic in and out through 'traditional' ip methods.

APple must patch what ever the cause is pronto, which i'm sure they will so keep a watch for it, meanwhile our joint efforts have at least helped many others, that is rewarding in itself 🙂.
