can't clear previous searches from Maps in iOS 8

I have the same problem with an address that is in my "Recent" list that was sent by someone I know. I can't recall when it was sent, but all I know is that I can't remove it. Please don't say to tap on the search bar then got to favorites, then to recent and tap on clear, because I already did that. Nothing works.

I'm having the same problem randyfromkeedysville. Very irritating, just hope somebody can offer a solution. Tried everything I can think of at the moment.

randyfromkeedysville & moorie007 - I just emailed Apple Maps about this because I have the same issue. Not expecting a reply or anything but hopefully it gets resolved. Even more frustrating is I have no current email or text message correspondence with the person, and don't even recall ever receiving an address.

I hope they can give you an answer soon its be driving me mad, I even have addresses in America

Yes I can delete my normal map history but these others wont go away

I contacted my cell phone carrier AT&T about this problem and they helped me solve it. Apple Support is worthless in getting anyone to talk to. It came from an email that was from one of my contacts.

That is what I suspect as well but I can't find any email or text from the contact or anything mentioning the address listed.

It would be in the signature in an email that you received or in a message

Even when I delete my email accounts and all my texts it doesn't go away.

Have had the same problem for months. Have never found anyone with a solution. The address DOES come from an e-mail. Mine are never from contacts I have. Once the address appears there is NO way to delete it. If you open it in maps it will appear in recents, but if you delete it in recents it still appears underneath the Favorites line. They seem to disappear in about a week or so. Like others, I have sent notes to Apple via beta testing but never an answer.

Hi you say you carrier help and sorted the issue..What did they tell you to do?

It's one of the glitches in the app. You can relocate the pin then tap on the flag. That will take you to the address and info on the location. At the bottom of that address these a "Remove Flag". Or something of that nature. Until Apple comes up with a solution to helps us, the address will always be there.
BTW, my last posting was removed by Apple due to them thinking I was going on a rant about this issues.
With that being said...Apple, would you please let us all know how to remove these unwanted locations from the Google map app.

IF you have an iPhone 6s or 6s plus, you have to hold down the location & swipe left, then it gives you an option to delete

I got it . You just touched which you wanting delete ( do not hold down over 2 second) and swipe left ,then it gives you an option to delete .

Touch ( do not hold down over a second) and swipe it to left . it will give u option to delete. Hopefully, it's a help you.
