iPad mini incredibly slow after io8

SSo since I stalling io8....which took hours....my iPad Mini is wrecked.

It is now so so slow, despite my memory not being anywhere close to full. Certain apps have stopped working, even though they've updtated to fit in with io8. It's freezing constsntly, and when I type it takes a good few minutes for my text to show....this is like problems you have on an ancient comouter....shouldn't be happening to a four month old iPad. At the moment its pretty ,unchanged useless, which is ridiculous after spending so much ,only only a few Months ago.

ANyone else experiencing problems? I apologise for the bad typing, this has taken ages to type up on my ipad.

I Don't know much about computers, iPads etc, but I had the exact problem. I'm a great experimenter, so I started trying different things. Here is what worked for me.

1. Settings > wifi > press the i in the circle next to your network > change the DNS number to 8.8.8.8

2. Turn all your devices off > turn the power off to your router and wait 30 seconds > turn router power back on > turn on all devices

((I'm not positive, but I think I reset my NETWORK SETTINGS AS WELL, BUT MAKE SURE YOU KNOW YOUR PASSWORD FOR YOUR NETWORK IF YOUR NETWORK IS SECURED!)

i have no clues what this did, but ALL the problems you mentioned in your post (Ruthrebecca) have been resolved On my iPad mini.

I am at my wits end. I also have an IPad 2 which was working beautifully until I install IO8. Now it does the following:

1. Screen freezes up

2. Can not shut it off to reboot

3. is very, very slow when trying to type up any kind of inquires, like Google searches

( letters not responding to what I have typed

4. Screen will suddenly go dark, or freeze, or will not respond

Yes, I have experienced what you have. I have never had to reboot as many times in a day with this new system. Have deleted any information or apps to see if that helps. Other then rebooting nothing helps long term to get back to what I remember what my IPad 2 use to do. I too, want to know what I do now.

To fix your problems you can try going to general, then accessibility. You should see reduce motion -- turn that off then increase contrast next. You should also have at least one gigabyte of storage left. If Safari is also slow then clear cookies and cache. You could also try turning off multitasking gestures in general and canceling some apps in the notification part of general.

hoped this helped

I have done the reset two times now and it only makes things better for a short while. Maybe two days depending on how much you use it seemingly. After doing a factory reset 3 days ago, my iPad Mini is incredibly laggy in Safari and generally slow using everything else. When typing a simple word like "the" it can take upwards of 3 seconds for the text to appear. Web pages take about 5X longer to load than an iPhone 5s on the same network. Links within safari regularly do not work, must be tapped several times or the page must be scrolled first to allow for a tap to be recognized. It doesn't help that the safari progress bar is buggy and doesn't give feedback half the time. Although safari is the worst experience related to the issue, it is not alone... tap recognition throughout the OS is generally bad or slow.

This iPad is only 2 months old with no apps on it and it is unusably slow. Every other device on the network works fine (20mbs connection). I am going to take it in to an apple store. Although that may be a fruitless endeavor.
