"Unable to download item. Please try again later. "

Hello. After updating to iOS8, whenever i turn off and power my phone, I receive a pop-up "Unable to download item. Please try again later. " at first I thought it was an app gone rogue but in the appstore I did not see anything suspicious. After resetting and restoring my device the pop-up kept appearing. By mistake I discovered that if I open the iBooks app the pop-up appears every time. I hace never bought or downloaded any book from here, ever. Did you encounter this error? do you have any suggestions for Me?

thanks

iPhone 5s, iOS 8

hey sorry to my poor English

I do apply avantsweater method to solve this irritable problem

first of all, you need to turn of all the ibooks on sync settings on your iphone and also your app store sync settings on your iphone/ipad

then sign out your app store ID.

second, go to your itunes of your "desktop" , go to right side of itunes store and you may see"QUICK LINKS", then click "Account"

Account would show up "You have 1 item awaiting download", then click "download now"

then it may start download your U2 album booklet, which the main reason causes this problem.

after downloading it, go to your itunes library and select U2 album and right click to show their original folder, and find your booklet file and delete it.

also delete the booklet file on your sync playlist

third, sync your iphone/ipad, and login your itunes on iphone/ipad, and open all the sync settings of your ibooks on iphone, the pop-up won't show again.

if it fails, go to recovery your idevices, it may sucess, but you still need to do the above things

Same here. It is fortunately perhaps only once or twice a day for me that it appears. I also downloaded U2s album. I don't think I did anything with iBooks but I did use the Kindle app. I have just been into iBooks and downloaded all items available for download, though I don't think they would have been causing the issue, its not like they were trying to download or anything.

I did have a lot of sync issues after upgrading to iPhone 6, one such issue left me with 100s of grey icon apps, which were basically all waiting to download from app store, this has taken about a week to complete, with a few stubborn apps removed. I believe they have all been downloaded now, and there are no more grey icon apps left on the phone, so don't think this is the problem.

Im also getting this bug on my iPad2 and got it when upgraded to iOS8.

I downloaded the U2 album, so sure its this.

Since hidden it.

I went into itunes on a pc (do not usually use, as always use OTA updating and sharing) and downloaded the booklet on the ps and removed it.

I have turned off background refresh, ibooks store and itunes store off and still getting it.

It is so annoying

So I've been having the same issue as every one here and found a fix that worked for me. My problem started when I changed the ringtones on my alarm clock to music that was on my phone and also some songs that weren't on my phone and were re-download from the cloud. The problem came when one of the songs songs from the cloud didn't download correctly which made iTunes send me the message saying "unable to download item.." Over and over again. When I went into my music I found that I couldn't delete the song. I also noticed that it said it was downloaded when I looked in my purchases on iTunes Store. So I couldn't slide my finger over the song to delete it and I couldn't download it. So I went back on the Internet to find a solution and found this Http://m.wikihow.com/delete-music-on-your-iphone#removing_music_using_itunes_and _coputer_sub I used #6 to fix my problem. And If #6 doesn't work for you, the web page shows you other ways to delete songs as well.

For those that may be thinking how is my problem and yours related. Go through the music, books, movies, ect. on your device and see if you can slide your finger left to bring up the option to delete the song, if you can't delete it than your having the same issue as me and this solution shuold fix it and get ride of that message.

Hope this works for you.

Also i made sure to hide all songs that werent on the phone, then deleted the U2 album completely
