SIM NOT VALID after ios 8 update

I was running a perfectly fine Iphone 5 on a sim only contract with Telfort in NL.

I have the phone without issues since it came out, today I updated via iTunes to ios 8. It failed and asked me to do a restore.

Ok I thought as I backed up everything prior to update. The problem is now it has restored it just will not go past the activation stage and tells me the SIM IS NOT VALID

It also blames everything on my carrier and the iPhone is fine. This worked fine before so I guess I should not have updated.

Has anyone else had this issue? Any advice would be really helpful

Thanks in advance

This is a bug of the biggest company in the world... i paid 70$ for the unlock and now my phone is locked again! who is responsible for that? apple customer support don't know anything about this, they told me that my device appears unlocked! either that's a lie or they don't know what they're talking about. It's a shame..!!! Also I unlocked my phone throught Cellunlocker, stay away from this company! worst service ever!!!!!

You paid an UNAUTHORIZED SCAM SITE to unlock your phone. They hacked it to unlock it. When you updated or restored it you undid the temporary hack that unlocked it. There is no site and no service that can legitimately unlock iPhones except the carrier the phone is locked to. And most carriers don't charge to unlock iPhones. The ones that do charge a nominal fee. Since you mention dollars, if its USD and the carrier it was locked to was a US carrier none of them charge to unlock phones if you meet their commitments.

Lawrence Finchresponded to your question about the site you linked to (which, by the

way, is riddled with malware).

He did not say you spoke poor English nor did he in any way call you uncivilized or

even use the word. Since this is an international forum, you must be aware there are

cultural differences at play here and what you think about a post on initial reading should

cause you to re-read it and ascertain intent as well as implicit content if something seems

amiss on first reading.

You asked "So this a lie? https://letsunlockiphone.services/update-restore-unlocked-iphone-ios-8-itunes-fa ctory-unlock/"

Lawrence Finch responded that it is a lie and that the site is written in poor English.

You read something into his answer that was not written nor intended. You may wish

to amend your response to him. Or you can continue to be offended - choice is yours.
